Team Building for Morrison’s/ Safeway

Event: team building day and gala dinner
At a time when employee morale was low due to restructuring and rumours of a take-over, we were briefed to organise a day of team building activities that would be fun and bring the teams back together.

Button’s role: Event management, team building
We identified activities that would appeal to the 90 attendees, who ranged from Director level through to office support staff. Thinking creatively we devised activities to suit all abilities, break down barriers and give everyone a good time. In the morning, an icebreaker activity got teams working together making fantastic music using percussion instruments. After a buffet lunch, the teams were mixed up and the afternoon was spent on an ‘It’s a Knockout’ tournament. We chose the beautiful Saville Court Hotel in Windsor for the venue and laid on a gala dinner complete with awards and karaoke.

Benefits
Whilst the activities were designed to be fun, they importantly worked at making the teams work closely together. Individuals learnt about their own strengths and weaknesses, whilst the Its A knock Out event brought a healthy dose of competiveness back into the teams. Everyone left feeling energised and motivated.

It’s not been an easy time over the last few months but today’s activities have been such fun. It’s brought our once close team back to life and the improvement in morale is really noticeable. Well done for understanding the brief and creating a day which has really made a difference.
